PROJECT CONTEXT:  The existing home was a charming Dutch colonial with an attached garage.  A small addition was needed to accommodate a new Master Bedroom, Bathroom, and Walk-in Closet.

PROJECT LOCATION: Madison, CT

PROJECT COMPLETION:  Summer 2005

PROJECT PROGRAM:  An elegant Master Suite in which to relax and unwind.  The project also included minor modifications to several parts of the home including upgrades to the façade as well as an update of the existing second floor bathroom.

CLIENT:  A woman with sophisticated style looking to customize the space she most enjoys relaxing in.

DESIGN SOLUTION:  The Owner approached us to design a comfortable and usable bedroom with an attached bathroom and a variety of storage spaces.  The new bathroom adjoined the existing second floor bathroom which was also renovated, allowing us to accommodate the plumbing changes in a centralized location.  We increased the second floor plan to make room for the new bedroom and storage.  By adding a new bedroom space, it was possible for the Owner to occupy the other upstairs bedrooms during the renovation.

MATERIALS:  The bathroom fixtures and closets were incorporated within custom built-in cabinetry, resulting in a clean and consistent elegance throughout the Master Bedroom Suite.  The bathroom features granite countertops and a frameless shower door.
