The complete renovation of an 1850 Italianate in downtown Guilford, CT. The house was built as a 2 family and included 3200 sf of space that was in need of repairs after years as rental apartments. The home was transfomed into an open, energy efficient, light filled home for a family of six.
A 500 sf addition with a complete renovation of an existing 2,000 sf Federal style home just off of the town green. We took great care in creating a comfortable, modern home within the existing historic context.
The addition of a kitchen and screened porch to a ranch style home nestled into a wooded site. The existing kitchen was renovated into a welcoming entry area, generous pantry and art-lined hall which continued the open floor plan and gracious one story living.
A 400 sf kitchen renovation within a large brick Tudor home. The clients envisioned the kitchen as the center of their time at home and asked us to accommodate all of their daily activities within a warm, comfortable, sophisticated style.
A renovation of a 1920 brick colonial in excellent condition. The goal was to update the house to accommodate the needs of a more modern family while retaining the charm of the existing house. We also addressed the scale of the rear elevation with a one story canopy which covers an entry into a new mudroom and updated an existing sunroom space.
A 370 sf two story addition to an existing 1800’s farm house. The owner wished to add a family room and master suite which maximized the views to the east river. We modified the gable window layout and addressed some of the interior finishes in the main house.
A new master bedroom addition over a first story family room allowed an existing bedroom to be transformed into an elegant bathroom. The existing bathrooms were combined to create a new shared bath with generous storage. Custom built ins maximized storage while creating a refined feel.
Two additions totaling 1200 sf were added to this 1960’s ranch. We added a new family room over an existing garage, completely renovated the existing kitchen, and added a new master suite. The design continued the
contemporary feel of the original ranch, while providing a warm comfortable feeling through the choice of materials and colors.
An extensive renovation of a 7500 sf, c.1717, colonial home into five luxury apartment units. The project was approached as a design / build venture, allowing the design to evolve at the suggestion of the existing building. Care was taken to celebrate the historic detail of the home through the careful restoration of the existing content and the reuse of salvaged materials.
